The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) would complete the process of handing over houses in model villages to flood victims by the end of this year. Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Mujahid Sherdil said on Wednesday that model villages have been constructed at 333.81 acres of land where 1885 houses have been established.
He further said that all basic facilities have been provided in these model villages including 471 bio-gas plants, 943 solar energy plants, 6 community centers, 26 parks, 18 livestock and veterinary dispensaries, 14 TEVTA centers, 18 dispensaries as well as 15 schools. Constructed with the cost of Rs 1.55 billion, these model villages are the vivid picture of good governance and strategy of Punjab government to rehabilitate flood hit people, he added.
