WASA installs generators to run tube-wells

WASA has installed generators at its 110 tube wells in the city to ensure the provision of drinking water supply to citizens. DCO Lahore, Noor ul Amin Mengal has constituted a special monitoring team for checking of the operation during loadshedding hours and hired the services of four petrol pumps for continuous supply of petrol and diesel.
He said it was not a normal situation and they had to deal with it by adopting emergency measures in an efficient manner.
He said they had evolved a mechanism to check the misuse and theft of diesel and petrol being provided for these generators. The CDGL was trying its best to ensure continuous supply of water to the citizens and they were utilising all available resources in this regard.
He said water tankers would also be sent in those areas where generators had not been installed at the tube wells. Any complaint about shortage of water would be treated on urgent basis.
The DCO paid surprise visits of Tajpura, Begumkot and Shalimar Sunday bazaars and directed the Sunday bazaars administration to further improve the arrangements of the Sunday bazaars and to provide maximum facilities to people who visit the bazaars. He checked the quality of fruits, vegetables and others food items in bazaars and expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements of cleanliness and quality of vegetables and fruits.
