President Asif Ali Zardari has invited the Presidents of Russian Federation, Afghanistan and Tajikistan to participate in the 4th Quadrilateral Summit to be hosted by Pakistan on September 26-27, 2012. The 4th Quadrilateral Summit including Russia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Pakistan will be held in Islamabad on 26-27 September 2012.
The Foreign Office sources said that the summit will focus on the regional cooperation in various sectors particularly in the field of security and counter-terrorism besides the Afghan conflict and the reconciliation efforts in the war-torn country. They said that the key regional leaders will also discuss the post withdrawal situation of the combat US-led Nato forces from Afghanistan. According to spokesperson to the President, Senator Farhatullah Babar, the President also invited the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to undertake a bilateral visit on the eve of the Quadrilateral Summit.
