The targeted killing spree continued unabated as six more persons were killed in separate incidents in the metropolis here on Tuesday. According to police and rescue sources, a bullet-riddled body stuffed in a gunny bag was recovered from Shah Faisal jetty in the limits of Korangi Industrial area police station. The identity of the victim is yet to be ascertained. Police said the victim, whose hands and legs were tied with rope, was hit by a single bullet on his head.
The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post-mortem and later moved to Edhi Morgue till identification. Police said the deceased appeared to be Pushtoon, adding that a case was registered against unidentified men on the complaint of state. Another tortured body of a youth was recovered from Star Ground in the limits of Quaidabad police station. The identity of the victim is yet to be ascertained.
Police said the victim had torture marks on his head, which suggested that he might have been murdered with sharp edge lethal weapon, adding that he also appeared to be Pushtoon. The body was shifted to JPMC and later moved to Edhi Morgue till identification.
One more bullet-ridded body stuffed in a sack was found from near Coconut ground in F.B area block 14 in the limits of Jauharabad police station. The victim, who was identified as Shahid Memon, 35 son of Noor Mohammad, was the resident of Hussainabad, Block 3. Police said the victim went missing on Monday evening. The hands and leg of the victim were tied with ropes and polythene bag was also stuffed in his mouth. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico legal formalities.
Police said the deceased was the father of two and was working in glossary store. An FIR 151/12 was registered against unidentified men on the complaint of victim's father. A truck driver was shot dead in North Karachi in the limits of Khwaja Ajmair Nagri police station. Police said the victim, Abdul Sattar Khan, 32 was targeted by unknown armed riders when he was travelling in his truck (JU-1270). Resultantly he received fatal bullet wounds and died on spot.
The body was shifted to ASH for legal formalities and later handed over his family. Police said the victim, who was the resident of North Karachi, might have been killed over personal ground. A youth was gunned down in Future Colony, Landhi in the jurisdiction of Sharafi Goth police station. The victim, Saleem, 19, son of Sultan, a resident of Mansehra Colony Landhi, was assaulted by unidentified armed men when he was on the way to home. Resultantly, he sustained fatal wounds and died on spot. The body was shifted to JPMC for legal formalities.
Police said the victim's uncle also lost his life over petty larceny of sleepers and suspected that he might have been murdered over same ground. Later the body was handed over to his heirs. No case was registered till filing of this report. A 32-year-old man was killed while other sustained bullet injures in an armed clash over personal issue at Cattle Colony in the jurisdiction of Sukkhan police station. Police said the victim Abdul Hameed, 32 engaged in a quarrel with Adnan when he came to his residence in Cattle Colony no 6. After altercation, Adnan opened indiscriminate fire on Hameed and his cousin Abrar and ran away from the spot.
On being informed, police rushed to the crime scene and shifted the injured persons to JPMC where Abrar succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Police said Abdul Hameed eloped with Adnan'n sister and tied the knot with her few months ago and added that Hameed's brother-in-law came to his house to resolve the issue but engaged in an armed clash that claimed the life of Abrar.
