The Karachi School for Business & Leadership (KSBL), hosted a career counselling session at a local hotel here on Tuesday. The session titled "Unleash Your Potential - Choose the Right Career", invited accomplished business leaders from various sectors who spoke about the industry perspectives and insights, to the KSBL MBA applicants and other participants, to help the upcoming generation of professionals understand the dynamics of these diverse industries and areas of work, and the pre-requisites for entering these sectors.
The speakers at the event were esteemed top executives such as Leon Menezes, General Manager HR Shell Pakistan, Sarfaraz A. Rehman, CEO Dawood Foundation, Haroon Zamir Khan, General Manager/EVP Risk Management Habib Bank Ltd, and Abid Butt, CEO E2E Supply Chain Management (Pvt) Ltd. The session was conducted keeping in line with KSBLs' endeavor to prepare a new generation of ethical leaders who will lead Pakistan towards prosperity.
Sharing his experience in Pakistan, Leon Menezes said "In the Pakistani context, my suggestion for someone who wishes to be at the top of HR is to do stints in business. This will give them depth and gravitas". Leon emphasised on the fact that for success it is important to identify individual's capability and move in the pertinent direction.
Expressing his expectations from the audience Sarfaraz A. Rehman said "The leaders produced at KSBL, hopefully will be larger than life and will change the history of Pakistan." He highlighted that luck comes in everyone's way and its up-to the person how to take advantage of that opportunity.
The Karachi School for Business & Leadership (KSBL) and the University of Cambridge, Judge Business School have a strategic collaboration whereby Cambridge has taken a lead role in setting up the graduate management school including; faculty planning, faculty recruitment and development, curriculum design and establishment of applied research at KSBL. KSBL is delivering leading edge Executive Education programs since May 2010, and is starting a world-class MBA program in September 2012, for the many talented men and women in the country as well as those accepted from abroad.
