The capital police have restricted entry to the Red Zone on Tuesday following the disqualification of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani by the Supreme Court. "The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) of police Bani Amin has directed police to allow entry of vehicles to Red Zone only through Radio Pakistan road.
He has also been ordered to ban entry to the Red Zone from Ayub Chowk where the building of apex court and sensitive building are located on the disqualification of Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani," an police officer deputed at Red Zone said. The official said that capital police had increased the number of security personnel at Ayub Chowk. He said that IGP has also issued strict directives for strict checking of vehicles and persons entering the Red Zone via Radio Pakistan Chowk. The move is part of plan to avert any protest demonstration near sensitive buildings after the disqualification of Yousuf Raza Gilani by the apex court.
