Imran demands early election

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday demanded early elections to steer the country out of current political crisis. Addressing a press conference, Imran said the Supreme Court of Pakistan gave a historic verdict against the ruling of Speaker National Assembly, disqualifying Yousuf Raza Gilani as prime minister.
The PTI chief said disqualification of Gilani would change the course of political events. However, new prime minister is not a solution to the current political unrest in the country.
"The only solution left now is early election," Imran said, adding that the government had failed to do any good in the last four years and expecting something different from them now is out of question. Expressing frustration over the power crisis, the PTI chief said he has decided to stand with the people to protest against load shedding.
He announced to take out a protest rally in Faisalabad on June 27 saying he will also visit other cities and protest along with locals. Peaceful protest demonstrations will be extended to other parts of the country, the PTI chief added. He alleged that Punjab government had failed to protect the lives and property of people during protest rallies. He said due to load shedding factories are not giving production while unemployment is rising and the incumbent government is responsible for all these crises.
