At least five persons on Wednesday lost their lives in separate mishaps in the metropolis here on Wednesday. According to police and rescue sources, at least two drowned bodies were recovered from Darakshan and Ibrahim Hyderi police remits. A two-day old drowned body of middle-aged man was recovered from Sea view in the limits of Darakshan police station.
The victim was identified as Rizwan, 30, son of Raees, a resident of Nazimabad. Police said he went missing when he had gone to Manora along with his friends for picnic some two days ago. They said the deceased drowned during bath in deep water. Police said the body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico legal formalities and later handed over his heirs.
Another drowned body of a man was found in the precincts of Ibrahim Hyderi police station. The victim, Mohammad Hussain, 30, who was the resident of Korangi, drowned when he went for picnic on Monday. His body was also moved to JPMC for post-mortem where his family members took his body away without completing legal formalities.
A 27-year-old Mushtaq son of Ghulam Fareed committed suicide at his house located in the limits of F.B Industrial Area police station. The victim, who hailed from Muzaffar Garh Punjab, hung himself with ceiling through rope because of domestic issue. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico legal formalities and later handed over to relatives.
An elder man namely Mauj Ali, 59 son of Ilm Deen lost his life in a road accident near Hospital Chowrangi in the jurisdiction of Qauidabad police station. Police said the victim, who was the resident of Bhains Colony, was knocked down by a speedy vehicle when he was trying to cross the road. Resultantly he received head injuries and died on spot. The body was shifted to JPMC and later handed over to the heirs. No case was registered till filing of this report.
Another man, Shafiq, 28, son of Shakeel was killed in a traffic mishap at KDA Chowrangi in the limits of North Nazimabad police station. Police said victim, who was the resident of Surjani Town, was hit by a speedy vehicle from back when he riding on his bike. The responsible driver managed to flee while the victim was shifted to ASH where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. No case was registered till filing of this report.
