Chairman National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) Mumtaz Akhtar Kahloon distributed laptops and certificates among twenty trainers of first batch who have completed their training. In this regard a ceremony was organised here at National Institute of Science and Technical Education (NISTE) on Thursday.
Talking on the occasion, he said more than half of our population is of age less than 30 years, it is our responsibility that we should turned it into a blessing by equipping them with technical and vocational skills, so that they be able to earn not only livelihood for themselves, but also to become source of employment for others. For this we need to put in additional resources in the TVET Sector both in terms of human and financial, he said, adding that NAVTTC with the help of the GIZ accelerated work on improvement of all three components of a good TVTE system that is curriculum, equipment and faculty, so that our system would be able to meet the national and international requirements.
Executive Director Navttc Tariq Shafi Chak said that in this era developing countries have focused on hard core training of their youth to shift them from sedentary mass to vibrant trained force. He said that we have a strong source of 45 million youth and the hordes of youth if not guided properly can be either turned into a slumbering mass or a force turning into crime and addictions.-PR
