Prime Minister visits Shujaat's residence, thanks him for support

Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Saturday visited the residence of PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain to thank him and his party for their support in the election of Leader of the House. The Prime Minister, on his first working day, managed to visit the residence of Shujaat and held a meeting with the PML-Q leaders.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and other members of PML-Q warmly welcomed the Prime Minister on his arrival at the residence. Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain and Waseem Sajjad were also present on the occasion. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Federal Ministers Khursheed Shah, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Naveed Qamar, Mian Manzoor Wattoo and Nazar Muhammad Gondal.
Chaudhry Shujaat and other PML-Q leaders assured the Prime Minister of their full support and co-operation and vowed to work hand in hand for the supremacy of law, constitution and strengthening of the democratic process. Talking to media after the meeting, the Prime Minister said, "I came here to thank the leadership of PML-Q for their support in my election as Leader of the House."
The Prime Minister said the government with the help and support of its allies would ensure resolution of all the problems especially the energy crisis, which he said was his top priority. Speaking on the occasion, Pervaiz Elahi told the media that reference would be filed for disqualification of the MNAs who did not cast their vote for the election of prime minister. "Disciplinary action will be taken against those who did not participate in the election process," he added.
Elahi said that the government would focus on energy crisis and it would be its top priority to deal with the problem urgently. "The Prime Minister also assured us that he would deal with the energy crisis on priority basis," he added. Chaudhry Shujhaat reiterated his party's support to the government for strengthening democracy.
