Zafrullah made vice president, GM for GCC and Levant at GlaxoSmithKline

GlaxoSmithKline, one of the world's leading pharmaceutical company, rec-ently announced the appointment of Mohammad Zafrullah as Vice President and General Manager for GCC and Levant. In this role, Zafar will be responsible for ten countries in the Middle East, with turnover in excess of $650m with over 750 employees. The countries include the six markets of GCC (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman) and four in the Levant region (Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Iraq).
This area is considered to be one of the fastest growing emerging markets for GlaxoSmithKline. As a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Zafar started his career in GlaxoSmithKline from Pakistan and progressed through different finance roles to become Vice President Finance for Middle East Africa in 1999, based at the Company headquarters in London. In 2008, he made a career move into General Management, based in Dubai. He also holds an MBA degree from IBA, Karachi.-PR
