KCFA delegation calls on Sindh chief minister

A six-member delegation of Karachi Council on Foreign Affairs (KCFA) led by Speaker Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, called on Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, at CM House here on Saturday. Khuhro, being the Patron of the Council, introduced the members of KCFA.
While the Chairman of Council Lieutenant General Moinuddin Haider (Retd), former Governor of Sindh, informed about the aims, objectives and performance of the organisation. He stated that the Council is working for the past nine years having membership from different walks of life. He added that the sphere of Council pertains to interaction with diplomats, Ambassadors, and other high level personalities aimed at to project the objects of Pakistan in a befitting manner.
Moinuddin Haider informed that Karachi is a big centre and with further support it will become a large think-tank of area. It was also informed that the Council had arranged many symposiums where some of important speakers had delivered important speeches with dedicated suggestions for resolving some issues.
It was further stated that MoU had also been signed with Egypt and Nepal. Speaker Sindh Assembly and Patron of Council, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, informed that there are think tanks all over the world, where there is interaction on various issues while there are certain countries and persons who provide financial assistance.
Chief Minister Sindh appreciated the efforts of Karachi Council on Foreign Relations and lauded the message of friendship and co-existence will certainly bring good results. He also appreciated that International Conference of SAARC Countries will be held in the month of November 2012, which will highlight and suggest solutions and recommendations for certain international issues.
Chief Minister assured the delegation that a suitable building will be provided to the Council while grant will be allocated soon. The delegation also invited the Chief Minister for attending the reception. Besides, the meeting was also attended by office bearers of Council including Admiral Khalid Moeen (Retd), Air Marshal Raziuddin (Retd), Karim Farooqui and Ahsan Mukhtar Zuberi.
