Contrary to the tall claims of extra-ordinary security arrangements by law-enforcement agencies for protecting life and property of the capital residents, growing incidents of robberies, car lifting and murders have exposed the police department's efficiency.
The rising cases of robberies and car jacking increased the sense of insecurity among the federal capital's residents. Besides car lifting, murder, mobile snatching and kidnapping, the incidents of robbery are increasing with each passing day in the federal capital.
In the last week, 14 cases of robberies, including purse snatchings, were reported to different city police stations, including Margalla, Aabpara, Kohsar, Women and Industrial area police stations. Similarly, seven cases of carjacking, two cases of murder and a case of kidnapping were reported to various police stations last week, according to the data gathered by the Business Recorder. Police are still clueless and they are still collecting evidence of a bank robbery in which about eight armed robbers looted a large amount of cash in broad day light.
During the last week, three cases of robberies were registered by the Margalla Police Station, Women's Police Station registered two cases of robberies, Bani Galla registered two cases of robberies, Kohsar Police Station registered one case each of robbery, carjacking and murder. Similarly, last week two vehicles were stolen and a house was looted in the limits of Industrial Area Police Station.
Shalimar Police Station registered two cases of car lifting and a case of robbery last week. Aabapra Police Station registered one case each of robbery and kidnapping of women. Bara Kahu and Ramana Police station registered one case of robbery during the last week.
