Pakistan offers scholarship to 600 Afghan students

Pakistan offered 600 scholarships for current academic year (2012-2013) for Afghan students to study in different disciplines in prominent Pakistani educational institutions, professional colleges and universities. Pakistan has been offering fully-funded scholarships since 2009 under Prime Minister of Pakistan's 2000 Scholarships Scheme for Afghan Students. A press release from Kabul on Saturday said that Embassy of Pakistan took a written test today.
Successful candidates would be able to benefit from scheme to study in Pakistan's educational institutions. All expenses including tuition fee, boarding and lodging, travelling to and from Afghanistan will be born by Pakistan government. About 1500 Afghan students are already benefiting from this scheme. Over 30,000 Afghan students have graduated from Pakistani universities, professional colleges in last three decades who now play active role in reconstruction and socio-economic development of their country.
Keeping in view vital educational requirements, Pakistan offers scholarships to Afghan students in medicine, engineering, IT, business administration, agriculture, economics, natural sciences & teaching. Pakistan attaches utmost significance to the development of education in Afghanistan and further increase number of scholarships in years to come.
