The City District Government Multan (CDGM) authorities sealed four petrol pumps in the city and registered cases against their owners on allegations of overcharging and creating an artificial shortage of petroleum products on Sunday after Ogra moved to decrease prices of POL products.
After the decrease was announced, owners of filling stations decided not to buy new stock during the last days of June, revealed a survey conducted by this correspondent. Though it was Tuesday and most offices, schools and city markets were open, the shortage caused inconvenience for most citizens.
Magistrates on the direction of the DCO, Multan, remained vigilant and raided various filling stations across the city and sealed four of them in Gulshan-e-Ravi and Samanabad areas. Filling stations staff insisted that the shortage was caused by a short supply of petrol.
