Jica to spend Rs 986 million for development projects

International Donor Agency of Japan Jica is providing financial assistance to improve the financial position of Wasa Faisalabad and water supply and sewerage system of the industrial city. Jica will also provide technical assistance for implementation of up-gradation Master Plan.
Talking to Wasa authorities, Takeshi Shehcki, head of the Jica delegation said that about Rs 986 million would be spent on eleven projects, which will cover 225km area of the city. Eumio Fukuday, President SOWA Company Japan and Itsuo Nozawa, Planning and Construction Engineer expressed concern over the present structure of revenue and said that Wasa is spending extra amount of Rs 356 million against their income. During the meeting, Wasa officers admitted that Wasa is paying 42 per cent of the total budget for payment of electricity bills.
