KARACHI: On Friday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 4,335.

The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 11.590 billion and the number of lots traded was 15,268.

Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 5.477 billion, followed by NSDQ 100 PKR 1.338 billion, crude oil PKR 1.218 billion, DJ PKR 1.051 billion, currencies through COTS PKR 984.997 million, silver PKR 690.317 million, platinum PKR 411.033 million, SP500 PKR 288.153million, natural gas PKR 102.361 million and copper PKR 27.546 million.

In agriculture commodities, 2 lots of corn amounting to PKR 5.526 million, 10 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 5.128 million and one lot of wheat amounting to PKR 3.999 million was traded.
