ISLAMABAD: A policeman was killed and three other people were injured on Friday after some unidentified gunmen who were in two different vehicles opened fire at a police personnel when he tried to stop the cars.
According to details, two cars collided with each other on Kashmir Highway, near police line head headquarters. At the same time, the accused in both cars opened fire on the each other's vehicle. Both the cars tried to flee from the scene, a police official said.
When Muhammad Aslam, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), present on the spot, tried to stop the cars, the unidentified people in those cars opened fire at him, and fled from the scene, as a result the police personnel and three other passers-by got seriously injured.
Soon after the incident, the injured were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) but the police official succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
