Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly closing in to complete signing of Real Madrid’s star right-back Achraf Hakimi.
The 21-year-old, who is spending a second successful loan season with German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, is set to return to Spanish giants.
It was earlier anticipated that Los Blancos’ hierarchy was keen in extending the contract of Hakimi till the summer of 2025 after his impressive performances for the German club.
However, the Guardian reported that Italian outfit, Inter, are now closing on completing the signing of the Morocco international for a reported transfer fee of €40 million.
The report further stated that Hakimi was offered a new five-year contract by the 13-time European champions which he rejected after not being guaranteed a starting role at the club.
During his two seasons with Dortmund, Hakimi was the real star performer where he managed to score 12 goals and provided 17 assists in just 72 appearances in all competitions.
In the ongoing campaign, Hakimi managed to score nine times and provided 10 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.
