ISLAMABAD: Despite imposition of "smart lockdown" in various residential areas of the federal capital, armed car snatchers have killed a police sub-inspector (SI), and stolen or snatched over seven vehicles including motorbikes from various areas during the last week.
According to official data, gangs of motor vehicle thieves remained in the city during the last week, and struck at seven places. Car snatchers shot dead an Islamabad Traffic Police SI, Muhammad Aslam when he tried to stop them in the limits of Shams Colony Police Station.
As a result of firing, three passers-by were also injured.
