ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration on Thursday de-sealed sub-sectors of sector I-10 and I-8, which were sealed aimed at controlling the spread of the coronavirus.
According to a notification issued by the ICT Administration in exercise of power conferred under Epidemic Diseases Act, 1958, and after detailed survey, contact tracing, ground surveillance, and testing of suspected individuals, the residential areas of sectors, I-8/3, I-8/4, I-10/1, and I-10/2 are de-sealed.
It says that the commercial areas of I-8 and I-10 Markaz well be de-sealed on Friday (today).
However, the de-sealed areas will be regulated by the prevailing orders of Section 144.
In case of any violation of standard operating procedure (SOP), strict legal action will be taken against the delinquents under the relevant provisions of law.
Meanwhile, tally of confirmed coronavirus cases in the federal capital rose to 13,082 after 170 new cases emerged in various parts of the city. According to official data, out of 13,082 cases, 7,850 Covid-19 patients have recovered.
A total of 129 persons have lost their lives in the city in the fight against coronavirus since its outbreak, it says.
The data says that the new cases reported on May 1 were 137, on June 30 were 132, on June 29, 248, on June 28, 189, on June 27, 255, on June 26, 271, on June 25, 227, on June 24, 264, on June 23, 307, June 22, 250, on June 21, 383, on June 20, 338, on June 19, 304, on June 18, 395, on June 17, 385, and on June 16, 288.
