ISLAMABAD: The federal government has released eight percent less amount for development projects in the recently ended financial year 2019-2020 under the Public-Sector Development Programme (PSDP) against the total budgeted allocation of Rs701 billion.
The federal government had allocated a total of Rs701 billion budget for financial year 2019-2020 but it released Rs644.7 billion (92 percent) funds for development projects under the PSDP.
According to the latest PSDP data 2019-2020 released by the Ministry of Planning on Friday dated 30-06-2020, the federal government has released Rs644.7 billion (92 percent) including Rs123.6 billion foreign aid (96.34 percent) for various ongoing and new development projects under the PSDP 2019-2020 against the total budgeted allocation of Rs701 billion.
The government released Rs297.04 billion (94.72 percent) including Rs17.6 billion foreign aid for development projects of various ministries, divisions and related departments out of Rs313.6 billion budgeted allocation.
A total of Rs196.1 billion (103.2 percent) including Rs98.5 billion (108.3 percent) foreign aid out of Rs190.1 billion had been released for development budget of corporations, which released more Rs6 billion (3.2 percent) of total budgeted allocation; Rs174.1 billion including Rs79.23 billion foreign aid out of Rs154.966 billion, which is Rs19.1 billion more releases out of total entire budgeted amount for the projects of the National Highways Authority (NHA); and Rs22.1 billion including Rs19.3 billion foreign aid for National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC)/Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) out of Rs35.16 billion.
The ministry released a total of Rs43.9 billion (99.1 percent) including Rs4.887 billion foreign aid out of Rs44.28 billion budgeted allocation for development projects of special areas; Rs27.28 billion including Rs3.3 billion foreign aid for development projects of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK); and Rs16.58 billion including Rs1.6 billion foreign aid for Gilgit-Baltistan for financial year 2019-2020.
A total of Rs23 billion were released out of Rs48 billion for development project of Merged Areas 10 Years Development Plan, and Rs15.4 billon against Rs24 billion for the merged districts of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The government released Rs10.03 billion for development projects of the Railways Division against Rs12.57 billion budgeted allocation, Rs7.65 billion including Rs1.3 billion foreign aid out of Rs 9.72 billion for development projects of the National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Division, and a total of Rs35.16 billion out of Rs36 billion have been released for the Cabinet Division.
The government released Rs49.74 billion for security enhancement against Rs53 billion budgeted allocation for financial year 2019-2020.
The ministry released a total of Rs110.3 billion for the Water Resources Division including Rs7.85 billion foreign aid, and Rs270.47 million for the Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority.
The government has released Rs7.5 billion for development projects of the Climate Change Division.
A total of Rs1.76 billion has been released for development projects of Science and Technology Research Division, and Rs8 billion for the National Food Security and Research Division.
The government has released Rs3.87 billion for development projects of the Federal Education and Professional Training Division out of Rs4.14 billion budgeted allocation, and Rs28.29 billion including Rs159.9 million foreign aid have been released out of Rs28.65 billion for the development projects of the Higher Education Commission.
The government has released Rs8.78 billion for development projects of the Interior Division, Rs5.84 billion for Revenue Division, Rs2.9 billion for Housing and Works Division, Rs8.43 billion for Finance Division, Rs5.3 billion for Information Technology and Telecom Division, Rs1.95 billion for Aviation Division, and Rs1.7 billion for Defence Production Division.
