KARACHI: On Wednesday, upon market closing, Pakistan Rupee exhibited behaviour similar to that of yesterday. It lost value against USD in interbank market. It also lost value to USD in open market while remaining unchanged against Euro.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee weakened by 10 paisas for buying and by 20 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 166.70 and 167.00 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR lost 60 paisas for buying and 50 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 167.40 and 167.70 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling with respect to yesterday's rates closing at 186 and 187.50 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR remained unchanged for buying while gaining 5 paisas for selling closing at 45 and 45.15 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 10 paisas for buying and 5 paisas for selling closing at 44 and 44.15 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee depreciated its worth versus major currencies including the greenback and the British pound in the local currency market on Wednesday.
According to currency dealers, the short supply phenomenon of the greenback prevailed throughout the trading session which helped its appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 167.00 and Rs 168.20 against the overnight closing rate of Rs 166.80 and Rs 167.70 respectively.
Likewise, the rupee also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling and maintained declining trend for the third consecutive day. At close of trading, the pound's buying and selling rates further rose from the Tuesday's closing of Rs 206.00 and Rs 207.50 to Rs 207.50 and Rs 209.20 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar remained firm against the Pak rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.
The dollar opened at Rs 167.70(buying) and Rs 167.80(selling) against same last rate.
It closed at Rs 167.70(buying) and Rs 167.80(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold were Rs. 111,300(selling) and Rs 110,100(selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
