LAHORE: After surfacing of fresh cases of the coronavirus, the Lahore district administration has decided to impose smart lockdown in seven areas of the provincial capital for one week from Wednesday midnight.
The areas that will be completely sealed include A2 Block in Township, DHA EME Society, Wapda Town, C Block in Johar Town, Chungi Amar Sadhu Main Bazaar and adjacent residential areas, Punjab Government Scheme and Green City.
Commenting on the lockdown, District Commissioner Lahore Danish Afzal said the smart lockdown would commence from Wednesday midnight for one week. He further said that in the past 14 days, 376 of Covid-19 cases were reported in these areas and thus the step has been taken to prevent the spread of the virus. "In these localities, overall 877 cases were reported so far," he added.
