Positive cases declining in Balochistan: Shahwani

ISLAMABAD: Spokesman of Balochistan government Liaquat Shahwani said on Sunday that corona cases in the provinces are declining and only 29 people were tested positive out total conducted on Saturday.

Speaking at a news conference here on Sunday, he said that coronavirus emerged as biggest problem for the nation and country and acknowledged National Disaster Management Authority's help provided to deal with the problem.

He said that positive cases were on slide in the province during the last two days especially and province is placed at much better place compared to two and half months before in terms of capacity to conduct tests and availability of testing kits.

The government of Balochistan is making efforts to deal with the problem and ops warned that if SOPs were not followed corona cases would also increase during Eid-ul-Azha as was happened during last Eid.

Shahwani added that corona cases in the month of May 23 were reported 52, 400 and from May 24 to June 24 (one month) more than 1, 88926 cases were reported. He said that around 30 to 35 percent cases were reported in Balochistan province

He said that the provincial government would also allow animals mandis in the cities. He said that corona cases were reported in 23 districts and currently there are 63 quarantine centres in the province and 3500 patients are quarantine in the houses.
