LETTER: According to K-Electric, the principal reasons behind frequent power outages in Karachi are inadequate supplies of gas and furnace oil to generate electricity. Fair enough. But what about its transmission capacity, which has got nothing to do with supply of either gas or furnace oil. What has appeared from Friday's webinar presided over by Nepra's chairman is that the K-Electric is unable to evacuate any further meaningful amount of power from the national grid because of transmission constraints. It is about time K-Electric revisited its strategy towards power supply by making required investments in its infrastructure.
