(Karachi) Different areas of the city received a brief spell of monsoon rain on Thursday.
As per details, the Pakistan Meteorological Department had predicted that rain and dust storm would hit Karachi today in a second spell of downpour this season. The met department stated the spell would last a day or two and would be preceded by dusty winds.
Meanwhile, as soon as rain hit the city, electricity supply to many areas including Landhi, Malir, Gulshan-e-HJadeed, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Gulistan-e-Jauhar was disrupted.
The hot weather in the metropolis turned pleasant after the downpour. Almost all thoroughfares were submerged in rainwater while traffic jam was witnessed on major arteries.
On July 6, at least five people lost their lives while 20 men suffered injuries in rain-related accidents after heavy rainfall and dust storm hit various parts of the city.
