LETTER: Asking provinces to constitute finance commission is a step that should have been taken a long ago; ideally, it must have coincided the passage of 18th Constitutional Amendment by the Parliament. This would have certainly lessened, if not fully eliminated, the tensions or frictions between the centre and provinces, particularly Sindh. The federal government, nonetheless deserves praise for directing all the provinces to
constitute Provincial Finance Commissions (PFCs) to bring the less-developed areas.
