ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) former Justice Javed Iqbal on Thursday directed its Karachi bureau to launch an inquiry against K-Electric for allegedly flouting agreement, overbilling and prolonged load-shedding.
Taking notice of people's complaints and media reports against K-Electric, the chairman NAB directed the NAB Karachi to complete the inquiry within a period of three months, so that the responsible could be brought to justice as per law.
He also directed the NAB Karachi to conduct an inquiry in response to the complaints of "unscheduled long load-shedding, overbilling and violation of agreement" according to which K-electric had to make investments for modernising the electricity generation and betterment of transmission system but K-Electric allegedly failed miserably to honour the agreement signed.
Directives have also been issued to the NAB Karachi to obtain the copies of agreement, relevant documents and details of the volume of promised agreement.
