Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi announced on Friday that he has recovered from the novel coronavirus and is back in office.
In a tweet, the minister said he is fortunate to be back in his office and thanked everyone for their wishes and support. He also paid tribute to healthcare and frontline workers.
"I pay tribute to Pakistan’s healthcare and frontline workers for being our backbone in the fight against this pandemic with unyielding commitment and dedication. I salute you," Qureshi tweeted.
On July 3, the minister tested positive for coronavirus. He said he felt strong and energetic and would continue to perform his duties from home. However, he shifted to Rawalpindi's Military Hospital for the coronavirus and plasma therapy.
This week, he was shifted back home. Several politicians have been diagnosed with the virus over the past few months. Pakistan has reported 259999 COVID-19 cases.
