KARACHI: On Thursday, On Friday, Pakistan Rupee lost value against USD in both interbank and open markets. It also fell against other currencies in open market.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee lost 20 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 167.20 and 167.30 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR lost 20 paisas for buying and 30 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 167.30 and 167.60 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR lost 70 paisas for buying and 50 paisas for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 188 and 189.50 respectively completely reversing previous day's gains.

Against UAE Dirham, just like yesterday, PKR lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 45.10 and 45.30 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 10 paisas for buying and 20 paisas for selling closing at 44 and 44.30 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee maintained downward trend for the second consecutive day against the greenback in the local currency market on Friday.

The short supply phenomenon of the greenback prevailed for another day in the market which helped its further appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 167.00 and Rs 167.90 against the overnight closing rate of Rs 166.60 and Rs 167.70 respectively, local currency dealers said.

Furthermore, the rupee stayed unchanged against the pound sterling for buying and closed at its opening rate of Rs 207.50 whereas it lost 20 paisas for selling and ended at Rs 209.00 against the previous rate of Rs 209.20, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar remained firm against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Friday.

The dollar opened at Rs167.50 (buying) and Rs 167.60(selling) against same last rate.

It closed at Rs167.50 (buying) and Rs 167.60(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 112,700 (selling) and Rs 112,500(selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
