KARACHI: Pakistan Airline Pilots Association (Palpa) Monday said that the Director General Civil Aviation can not cancel licenses or fire pilots.

Palpa said that the cases of six of the seven pilots are in courts where the PCAA did not provide any evidence against them and added that it was a violation of 1994 Civil Aviation Rules.

Meanwhile, courts also ordered the issuance of licenses to pilots and issued stay order saying that their licenses would not be revoked.

Moreover, the PCAA did not provide any evidence against them in courts. The licenses of these pilots have been revoked under the 1994 Civil Aviation Rules.

DG Civil Aviation has issued license revocation letters after government approval. Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has canceled the licenses of 17 pilots of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The ATPL licenses of 48 PIA pilots have been suspended without show cause while the pilots have been given two weeks to file their reply.

PIA is in the process of firing pilots after revoking their licenses. PIA had already grounded 17 pilots in 2019. Investigations into the licenses of more than 160 pilots are underway.

Initially, the licenses were declared as fake, then suspicious and then the investigation is underway. However, his statements are causing serious problems for other employees, including Pakistani pilots and engineers around the world, and airlines around the world are verifying licenses from the PCAA. PALPA said that PCAA has already verified / cleared 96 Pakistani pilots out of 104 names received from various civil aviation authorities / foreign airlines (UAE / GACA. Vietnam Airlines, Bahrain Air. Civil Aviation Malaysia, Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department and Turkish Airlines).
