ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Interior Affairs, Rehman Malik Wednesday directed the interior secretary to prepare a comprehensive strategy to ensure security of Nato containers. Rehman Malik issued these directives in a meeting in the wake of government's decision to restore Ground Lines of Communication (GLOCs). Malik also issued directives to the provincial governments and concerned Inspector Generals to beef up security for the containers, an official said.
The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Chairman FBR, IG, Motorway, IG Islamabad and DG, National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC). The official said Rehman Malik also directed the FBR chief to make necessary communication arrangements for Nato containers as well as to make arrangements for the dispatch of containers from Karachi. The official said all the law enforcement agencies have been directed to cooperate with Pakistan Customs in this regard.
