KARACHI: On Thursday, Pakistan Rupee exhibited a mixed behaviour on market close. It gained value against USD in interbank market while losing value in open market. Similarly it lost value against Euro in the open market while gaining value against AED and SR in open market.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee had gained 5 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 167.55 and 167.60 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR had lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 167.70 and 168 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR had lost 50 paisas for buying and one rupee for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 191.50 and 193 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR had gained10 paisas for buying and 15 paisas for selling closing at 45 and 45.25 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR had gained 10 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 43.90 and 44.10 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee stayed unchanged on the buying side while it appreciated its worth on the selling side in relation to the greenback in the local currency market on Thursday.
According to currency dealers, the greenback did not observe any change in its demand as it firmly maintained its opening rate for buying at Rs 167.50 whereas it lost 20 paisas for selling and closed at Rs 168.60 against the overnight closing trend of Rs 168.80.
Moreover, the national currency failed to hold its day earlier recoveries and declined its worth against the pound sterling. Consequently, the pound's buying and selling rates rose from the Wednesday's closing of Rs 209.50 and Rs 211.40 to Rs 210.20 and Rs 211.80 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee recovered 10 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.
The dollar opened at Rs168.50 (buying) and Rs 168.60(selling) against last rate of Rs168.60 (buying) and Rs 168.70( selling).
It closed at Rs168.50 (buying) and Rs 168.60(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 116,500(selling) and Rs 116,000(selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
