At least four people including a worker of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were killed in different parts of the city on Sunday, police and rescue sources said. A worker of MQM was gunned down by unknown armed assailants in Qasba Colony in the limits of Pirabad police station.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Nafees, 32, son of Mohammad Ali, who was the resident of Islamia Colony, Liaquatabad area.
Police said that Nafees was on the way to home when two men riding motorbike intercepted him and opened fire, as a result he received severe injured which proved fatal. Police suspect personal enmity might be the reason of the murder. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities.
In another incident a man was shot dead near Al-Asif Square in the jurisdiction of Sohrab Goth Police Station. The victim was identified as Fazal Muhammad, 38, son of Ata Mohammad. Police said Fazal Muhammad was shot dead by unknown men. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico legal formalities. Separately, a stray bullet claimed life of an underage boy in Orangi Town in the limits of Pakistan Bazaar police station.
An official at the police station said that six-year old boy identified as Muhammad Ali was sleeping at the rooftop of his house, when a stray bullet hit him. Resultantly he died on the spot. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital ASH) for post-mortem Similarly, a boy was killed while playing outside his house in lines area in the jurisdiction of Brigade Police station.
Police said that the victim Rizwan 10, son of Saleem, was playing outside his home when a stray bullet hit his temple which caused his death on the spot. The body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
