Sattar calls for politics, welfare side by side

Deputy Convenor, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Rabbit Committee, Dr Faro Sattar said that Pakistan would become a truly democratic and civilised country if politics and welfare works are combined.
He was addressing a General Workers Convention of MQM at Lal Qila Ground, Azizabad organised in connection with collection of zakat and fitrana during the holy month of the Ramazan, said a statement issued by the MQM on Sunday.
Addressing on the occasion, Dr Sattar said that the people living below the line of poverty should also be remembered in the month of Ramazan besides doing other acts of piety.
He said that a system for collecting zakat should be evolved for highlighting the concept of a real welfare state.
Dr Faro Sattar said serving the humanity is the best form of worship.
He said that the change could only be brought by following this tradition of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).
Dr Faro Sattar said that the MQM has created a model for the collection of zakat and fitra towards its objective of making Pakistan a welfare state. He said that the MQM has established new trends in the political environment of the country. Members of the Rabbit Committee, Wasim Aftab and Mustafa Kamal also spoke on the occasion.
Mustafa Kamal is also the Chief Trustee of the Khidmat-i-Khalq Foundation (KKF), a welfare wing of the MQM.
