Slight increase in Covid-19 cases in capital

ISLAMABAD: The federal capital on Friday, again witnessed a slight increase in confirmed novel coronavirus cases as the city reported 44 cases as compared to 21 cases detected on the previous day.

The tally of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the city rose to 14,788 after the new 44 cases. At least, 12,023 Covid-19 patients have completely recovered so far in Islamabad, taking the recovery rate in the city to 82 percent, official data revealed.

Currently, there are 2,765 active cases in the capital city and 162 have died since the outbreak of the coronavirus. Meanwhile, the district administration conducted raids in the various parts of the city and imposed fines against the shopkeepers, who were violating standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued to prevent the spread of the virus.

Out of the total number of active 2,765 cases, 207 cases were in Sector G-8, 188 in Lohi Bher, 124 in Sector I-8, 120 in Sector G-7, 116 in Sector G-9, 108 in Sector G-6, 94 in Bara Kahu, 96 in Tarlai, 91 in Sector G-10, 84 in Sector I-10, 76 in G-11, 64 in Khana Pull, 55 in Sector E-11, 54 in Sector F-6, 53 in Rawat, 53 in Sohan, and 51 in Sector E-11.

As many as 40 in Chak Shehzad, 38 in Ali Pur, 33 in Sector F-7, 30 in Sector F-10, 29 in Sector G-5, 25 in Koral, 24 in Sector G-15, 19 in Sector E-9, 20 in Sector F-5, 20 in Sector H-13, 16 in Kuri, 13 in Model Town Humak, 13 in Tarnol, 11 in Shah Allah Ditta, 10 each in Sector B-17, F-17, G-14, and Kirpa, eight in Sector H-11, seven each in Chirrah, E-7, Sector G-12, eight in Sector H-11, six each in Bari Imam, Sector D-12, D-17, Pind Begwal, Sihal, five in Jhangi Syedan, four each in Phulgran and I-12, three each in D-15, H-12, I-13 , two each in E-10, E-8, F-15, Ghokina, Saidpur, H-9, and I-14.
