KARACHI: On Thursday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 4,625. The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 17.736 billion and the number of lots traded was 17,479.

Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 13.003 billion, followed by NSDQ 100 PKR 1.547 billion, silver PKR 1.366 billion, platinum PKR 597.199 million, currencies through COTS PKR 466.777 million, DJ PKR 309.987 million, crude oil PKR 221.735 million, natural gas PKR 108.940 million, SP500 PKR 77.360 million and copper PKR 36.882 million. In agriculture commodities, 2 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 1.047 million were traded.
