PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had compounded the miseries of the people due to its sheer incompetence. He was addressing a gathering in union council Gandheri in Charsadda district on Sunday. On this occasion JUI workers Israr Khan, Lal Raziq,Javed Khan, Izatullah, Siraj Khan and Jehanzeb Khan joined QWP along with family and supporters.
Sikandar Sherpao said mafias were flourishing in the PTI government. He added that another wheat flour crisis was looming in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the price of the commodity had registered a sharp increase in recent days. "The price of the 20-kg flour bag has jumped to Rs1,300," he said, adding that it spoke volumes about the incompetence of the PTI rulers. He maintained that sugar was being sold for Rs 90 per kilo.
He said the government's incompetence could be gauged from the fact that the prices of the medicines were raised by 200 percent in the last two years, which was unprecedented in the country's history. Sikandar Sherpao said the government borrowed heavily from the international money-lending institutions and added to the country's ever-increasing debt burden, but could not revive the economy.
The QWP leader said the parliamentary committee constituted to probe allegations of rigging in the 2018 general election could not finalize the terms of reference yet let alone holding the investigation.
