Prime Minister Imran Khan announced on Tuesday that August 9 will be celebrated as Tiger Force Day.
In a broadcast message today, the PM said that the government was planning to set a record for planting the most amount of trees on this day.
He added that on August 9, volunteers from the Corona Relief Tiger Force will lead a plantation campaign across Pakistan. He further said that he will also participate in the plantation campaign, and urged everyone, students and the youth to also participate.
He said all chief ministers and ministers must also participate in the plantation campaign. The PM continued that Pakistan is one of the ten countries which are vulnerable to global warming.
He said, therefore, planting trees in the country was necessary for tackling global warming.
