ISLAMABAD: Telenor Pakistan has joined hands with the Ministry of Information and Technology (MoIT) and Virtual University (VU) to introduce subsidised internet packages for students of DigiSkills Programme. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Telenor Irfan Wahab Khan on Tuesday tweeted that Telenor Pakistan had partnered with the MoIT and the VU to provide subsidized internet to students of DigiSkills.
"We are committed to providing the youth with ease of access to e-education and training resources," he added. As per the tweet, students will get 8GB internet in Rs150. Telenor Pakistan subscribers who are enrolled in DigiSkills programme can subscribe to this special internet bundle through a voucher containing electronic codes and strings that will be sent by DigiSkills.pk.
DigiSkills is an online training programme that seeks to empower the youth with skills that are in-demand. "With increased focus on online mediums of learning and digital education, Telenor Pakistan has stepped forward to provide subsidised access to DigiSkills online resources to ensure that the students' learning curve keeps growing," said Kamal Ahmed, chief corporate affairs officer, Telenor Pakistan.
