ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the Ministry of energy as well as provincial government of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to finalise a mechanism for payment of net hydel profit.
The prime minister directed this, while chairing a meeting with regards to energy issues of the KP government on Wednesday, and directed that the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) resolve the issues related to wheeling regime in energy sector with all the stakeholders.
The prime minister also directed that provincial representation must be ensured in board of directors of the energy departments.
The prime minister also directed the Power Generation Policy 2015 should be discussed in the Cabinet Committee of Energy.
He further stated that Chashma Right Bank Canal was very important project for the province social and economic as well as agriculture development, and feasibility of that project should be completed in six months time.
The meeting also reviewed the pace of development activities in merged districts of the KP during fiscal year 2019-2020, and discussed the projects for the ongoing fiscal year.
The premier stated that development of merged areas had been included in priorities of the government, and stated that fund allocated for infrastructure development of those areas should be timely released. The meeting was attended by Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar, Minister for Power Omer Ayub, governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, chief minister KP and officials of concerned department of federal and provincial governments.
