LAHORE: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar offered Eid-ul-Azha prayer, here at Governor's House on Saturday maintaining SOPs and social distancing. After offering Eid prayer, both exchanged Eid greetings.
Prayers were offered on the occasion for peace, progress and prosperity of the country and freedom of Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
After Eid prayer, the Governor and the chief minister held a meeting in which both discussed matters pertaining to development and law & order situation in the province. Both agreed to take forward the mission of development and progress in Punjab under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. They also expressed their resolve to utilize all the resources to provide relief to the public. Steps taken to control the coronavirus spread in the province also came under discussion.
It was decided during the meeting that 'Youm-e-Istehsal' will be celebrated on August 5 to raise voice against Indian oppression in Kashmir.
The Governor Sarwar also met with IG Punjab Police Shoaib Dastagir who apprised him about the security arrangements to ensure safety of the public during Eid-ul-Azha and Muharram ul Haram.
The governor said the government is strengthening the national institutions by eliminating political interference from them. He said the PTI government is taking difficult decisions for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
