(Karachi) A large explosion shook the Lebanese capital Beirut on Tuesday, local media reported.
As per details, smoke was seen rising over the city which was visible from far-flung areas. Eyewitnesses said the blast occurred in the port area containing warehouses where firecrackers were stored. The impact of the blast was so powerful that it shattered windows and doors of several houses while people also suffered injuries.
Several people were trapped under the rubble while rescue operation was underway till filing of this story.

Meanwhile, speaking on Lebanese television, Lebanon's Health Minister Hamad Hasan said the explosion had caused a “very high number of injuries” and extensive damage.
