(Karachi) An 18-year-old girl, resident of Fatehpur village, embraced martyrdom while six innocent people including two women and two girls suffered injuries when Indian Army troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation along Line of Control (LoC).
According to a statement issued by Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday, Indian soldiers targeted Fatehpur and Tahi villages. It added that Pakistan Army gave a befitting response to Indian shelling and destroyed their posts.
This year, Indian soldiers committed 1,877 ceasefire violations in which 15 innocent civilians including six women and five children were martyred while 144 people got injured.
On July 20, a 20-year-old civilian had been injured in unprovoked Indian firing along the Line of Control
Earlier, the Foreign Office summoned a senior Indian diplomat to register protest over continuous ceasefire violations by India along the Line of Control.
The FO condemned the deplorable targeting of innocent civilians by the Indian occupation forces stating that ceasefire violations are against all established humanitarian norms and professional military conduct.
Indian forces have continuously been targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy-caliber mortars and automatic weapons along the LoC and Working Boundary.
