Highlighting serious human rights abuses in the (IIOJK), Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi said that the recent brutal use of force and continued siege of Kashmir by the Indian occupation forces have failed to suppress the indigenous struggle of the Kashmiri people aspiring for their right to self-determination.

Ambassador said that Pakistan raised the Kashmir issue at every forum to sensitize the world community about the fascist Modi government's actions in the region. By abolishing the articles 35A and 370 of the Constitution, Indian government has malevolently attempted to turn the Muslim majority into minority in the IIOJK pursuing its Hindutva agenda. In spite of the appeals from UN Secretary General and Human Rights organizations, India continues its illegal siege and human rights violations. Kashmir has been turned into the biggest prison of the world. Continuous military siege has crippled life in Kashmir, he said.

Ambassador emphasized that Pakistan would continue to support the Kashmiris till they achieve their right to self-determination. He thanked the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, the Iranian Government and people of Iran for supporting the cause of the Kashmiri Muslims and condemning the recent Indian atrocities in IIOJK.

Renowned Iranian scholars Hojjat-ul-Islam Syed Salman Naqvi and Syed Hassan Raza, in their speeches, condemned the abrogation of special status of Kashmir, atrocities and human right violations being committed by Indian occupation forces against the peaceful Kashmiris in IIOJK. They appealed to the Muslim Ummah to raise its voice unanimously in support of the innocent Kashmiri Muslims and demand immediate restoration of special status and put an end to illegal siege of Jammu and Kashmir.
