LAHORE: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said that the Punjab government is in a strong position inside and outside of the Parliament; "the opposition cannot pressurize us".
He expressed these views during a meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Punjab President Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhry and MNA Faizullah Kamoka here on Friday. He further said that we all are on the same page and working together for the progress and prosperity of the country. "All those involved in political point-scoring will be disappointed," he added.
He said that Pakistan is still facing the consequence of the previous political leaders' failed policies. "Corruption has had disastrous effects on Pakistan's economy and institutions. "To eliminate corruption, the PTI government is introducing transparency on every level, which will strengthen the economy," he added.
Sarwar said that discussion on Kashmir in the UN Security Council is a diplomatic success for Pakistan. "The Kashmir issue must be resolved as per the UN resolutions," he added. "The American parliamentarians have written a letter to Eliot Angel, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Michael Mccaul, former Chairman of Homeland Security Committee, about illegal restrictions in the Indian Occupied Kashmir. Furthermore, the Amnesty International is demanding an end to the illegal occupation of the Indian Occupied Kashmir,' he added.
He reiterated that the human right organisations should raise voice against the Indian atrocities committed against the Kashmiris. "The international peace organisations should pressurise India to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions," he added.
