LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Deputy Chief Liaqat Baloch has said the conspiracies are being hatched to spread sectarian violence in the country. Talking to the journalists here on Saturday, he said secular lobbies and enemies of Islam and Pakistan were behind the plan as any clash among the followers of different schools of thoughts would provide them an opportunity to push their agenda to damage the Islamic identity of Pakistan.
He said the leaders of religious parties had worked hard in the past to create harmony among all schools of Islamic thought and now the Milli Yakjehti Council was performing the same duty. The enemies of the country, he said, would not be allowed to damage this harmony at any cost. A consultative meeting of the leadership of the MYC, he added, would be held on August 13 to discuss the issue.
Baloch said the issue of Kashmir entered into a decisive phase and any sign of weakness by Islamabad would tantamount to gift the area to New Delhi. He said the national leadership should sit together to formulate policy on Kashmir by keeping side their mutual differences.
