KARACHI: Head of Anjuman Zia-e-Taiba (AZT) Mubashir Raza has said that this charity organization spent more than two million rupees on different animals for the distribution of meat across the Sindh and Balochistan provinces during Eid-ul-Azha in dignified manner followed by all SOPs.
Despite difficulties due to the corona virus Pandemic, AZT, welfare and solidarity organization has reach over 5,000 families in 4 cities to share the joy by providing the meat at their doorstep. He said that the organization reach the most deserving peoples of Sindh and Balochistan Province, including Thatta, Makli, Sujawal and Gujo, Jhirak and Hub nearby areas residing in scattered populations for providing them meat.
He further said that the organization is paying special attention to religious scholars and students of Madrassas as they are the most neglected segment nowadays of our society. "Sacrifice of an animal is a key part of Islamic rites and prayers," he said.
"We did not accept any donations for Eid-ul-Azha to sacrifice the animals buy from our own Pocket". But we are thankful to Mehran Food and Spices who provided us Masala Packs as a gift to distribute it with the sacrificed meat.
This year, people are more concerned due to the virus. There are official virus restrictions and measures and a single holiday of Eid-ul-Azha, which makes it difficult for people to slaughter animals.
Vice Chairman AZT Nabeel Raza said that in the present situation of five month long lockdown, the white-Collar middle class has become very compelled and helpless, but these people are unable to line up and ask for food to release them from hunger for this purpose, we have collected data of such families and tried to deliver meat and edible spices to their homes.
He said that AZT has been carrying out various activities for the last 14 years behind the scenes for education and research and welfare of the society. However, it is time to expand the scope of our efforts in the country and abroad also.
