Japan's leading technology company Toshiba has officially announced that it will no longer manufacture laptops and computers after selling all its shares.
According to reports, in 2018, another Japanese technology company Sharp bought 80 percent shares of Toshiba company for the manufacture of computers and laptops for $36 million.
Toshiba has since issued a statement stating that Sharp has bought the remaining 20pc of its shares.
Toshiba introduced its first T1100 laptop in 1985, which weighed 4 kg and had a 3.5-inch floppy disk.
Toshiba sold more than 17 million computers in 2011, but sales fell to a dismal 1.9 million units in 2017.
